This place is BEAUTIFUL! The owner is a great guy! Kind, with a sense of humor and warmth! He welcomed us like we were friends of his! Great charisma with the staff as well! Our waitress was very kind and sweet! If she didn't know something we asked, she would find out the answer and let us know...her name started with a "K" maybe Kaylee or soemthing similar (either way she was great) The food was spectacular and the wine had the perfect blend!! 10/10 recommend! RUN don't walk!!
Overview
Walking into Grounds & Vine for the first time felt like stepping into a space that already knew me. I stopped by on a midweek afternoon after a client meeting nearby, expecting a quick coffee, and ended up staying long enough to watch the room shift from laptop-focused regulars to neighbors unwinding with a glass of wine. Located at 6001 Gateway Center Dr, Kannapolis, NC 28081, United States, this spot quietly anchors the area with a balance of comfort and intention thatβs hard to fake.
The menu reads like it was built by someone who actually drinks coffee and enjoys food instead of chasing trends. Their espresso program leans on responsibly sourced beans, and according to data from the Specialty Coffee Association, shops that focus on freshness and proper extraction can improve flavor consistency by over 30 percent. You can taste that attention here. My go-to order has become the oat milk latte, pulled smooth and not over-roasted, paired with a warm pastry that doesnβt feel like an afterthought. A barista once walked me through how they dial in shots every morning, adjusting grind size based on humidity, which explains the reliability reviewers keep mentioning online.
What really sets the place apart is how coffee naturally transitions into wine without feeling forced. The wine list is compact but smart, favoring approachable bottles over intimidating labels. During one visit, a staff member explained how they select wines that work well both by the glass and with light bites, referencing guidance from the Court of Master Sommeliers about balance and food compatibility. That philosophy shows up when you order a charcuterie board and realize everything on it actually belongs together.
Thereβs a phrase people use in reviews that keeps coming up-community hub-and it fits. Iβve overheard book club debates, startup pitches, and birthday toasts all happening within the same hour. The seating layout helps; communal tables encourage conversation, while quieter corners let you settle in with work. Research from the National Restaurant Association shows that diners increasingly value atmosphere as much as food quality, and this place clearly understands that shift.
Service is another reason locals keep coming back. On one busy Saturday morning, the line stretched to the door, yet orders moved quickly and mistakes were handled without defensiveness. That kind of operational confidence usually comes from good training systems, something hospitality experts like Danny Meyer often highlight as the backbone of successful dining spaces. You feel respected as a guest, not rushed or upsold.
Not everything is perfect, and that honesty matters. Parking can be tight during peak hours, and the menu, while thoughtful, isnβt massive. If youβre looking for a full brunch spread, you might find it limited. Still, those gaps feel intentional rather than careless, focusing on doing fewer things well instead of everything halfway.
Regulars often describe the experience with another phrase-easy to love-and after spending real time here, itβs hard to argue. The reviews echo what firsthand visits confirm: consistent drinks, friendly faces, and a space that adapts to whatever your day needs. Whether youβre scanning menus online, checking locations before meeting friends, or trusting local reviews to guide your choice, this is one of those places that earns its reputation the slow, reliable way-by showing up every day and getting the details right.

Great dinner here! Delicious food and some great wine! We had the garlic cheese bread, the meatball sliders, and a BLT. Paired great with some fresh Prosecco! A really great spot for lunch or dinner, amazing food! A real gem!
Delicious for lunch and kid friendly. Recommend the potato soup and the harvest flatbread. Friendly service and fast to bring out the food. Cute outdoor dining area available.
Great spot! I was visiting from out of town and I'm so glad that my family wanted to bring me here for lunch. It's got a really cute and comfy vibe and a nice variety on their menu. Their wine selection is great and I enjoyed my sandwich and soup combo. The owner and his staff were very gracious and kind. I'd definitely go again!
I commute to Cornelius from Concord and I was looking for a place to stop on my way home for the occasional after work drink and bite to eat. I have gone nearly once a week since I discovered this gem a few months ago! The staff is well prepared and very attentive, with one or both of the owners being onsite almost every time I've stopped in. The wine selection is extensive and if your first choice is not available, the staff will provide a knowledgeable substitution that you're sure to love. The wine flights are expertly designed, each wine's flavor profile will complement the next one and you get a full glass of your favorite once you complete the flight. The food menu was clearly built by someone who loves food and enjoys cooking, the selection is not overly large but manages to cover a broad range of flavor profiles so there's something for everyone and every mood. I have thoroughly enjoyed everything that I've tried and look forward to working my way through the rest of the menu. Chef G's seasonally available chili is not to be missed! I attended a wine tasting last night and we left with several bottles of wine curated for Thanksgiving next week. I have not had a chance to stop in early and try the breakfast or coffee *yet*, but based on my evening experiences, I'm sure it will exceed my expectations.
Amazing food and service!! Came here initially for the Korean sliders for Burger Madness, which were super yummy! Very extensive menu options, plus an exciting wine menu and rotating chef table menu! Also very neat mimosa flights with yummy flavors AND comes with a full glass of your favorite! Loved them all, but the Sunrise Mimosa was the winner. And their sauces are homemade and AMAZING! Can't wait to come back and try more!! Pork BBQ sliders and loaded tater tots: I'll see you soon!!
Found this place today and decided to give it a try. Was greeted at the door by Chef G, and sat down outside on the patio. We ordered the pesto pasta, bell pepper soup, smothered tater tots, Mexican dip, and Chef G has try his new sauces with some kettle chips. Everything tasted like it was made in a kitchen at home and was very wholesome. We left the restaurant feeling full and super satisfied with everything. Chef G is a super nice guy, was telling about how his food is derived from multiple cultures and I really liked that a lot. He had given us his sauces to try and I really enjoyed the mustard based one. 10/10 would recommend and come back again
The food was absolutely delicious and my matcha was made to perfection. The owner even came around and introduced himself which was so nice and considerate. Will be returning!
